Company Name: Barramundi Fish Farm Bins
Industry: Fish Farming Aquaculture
Location: Northern Territory Australia
Background:
Since 1993 we have nurtured our premium saltwater Barramundi on our family farm alongside the majestic Adelaide River in Australia's remote Northern Territory - the spiritual home of the Barramundi. Our annual harvest has grown from 300 kilograms in our first year of sales to over 6000 tonnes of Barramundi per year.
Challenge
To provide a long-term solution to marking MOULDED POLYMER BINS bins that can withstand the environment as the company’s existing labels were prone to wear and tear, leading to frequent replacements and difficulty in tracking bins over time. Additionally, the low surface energy of the polymer bins and harsh industrial environment, including exposure to salt water, chemicals, and extreme temperatures, was causing conventional labels to deteriorate quickly.
Objective
The primary objective was to find a durable and long-lasting labelling solution that could withstand the tough conditions of the manufacturing environment and adhesive that would stick to polymer. The solution needed to:
Be resistant to corrosion, scratching, and fading.
Maintain readability and integrity of information over extended periods.
Integrate with existing asset management systems for seamless tracking.
